This five-day program is designed for students in Grades 4–6 and offers an exciting opportunity to explore the evolution of video games from their origins to the present day. Participants will discover the role of creativity in the digital age and gain hands-on experience in creating and developing their own unique stories using technology. The program combines theoretical exploration with practical activities to introduce the world of games. The camp will take place from 10.08 to 14.08.2026.

About the sessions

  • Arrival from 9:00 to 10:00
  • Morning session from 10:00 to 12:00
  • From 12:00 to 13:00 lunch break at the business center café (participants must bring €6 per day for lunch)
  • Afternoon session from 13:00 to 16:00
  • From 16:00 to 17:00 relaxation time — opportunity to move around and play VR games in a shared virtual space
  • Each lesson includes a 15-minute break for educational board games or outdoor activities
  • Group size: maximum 8 participants
  • Equipment: our school is equipped with powerful gaming computers and next-generation Oculus Quest 3 VR headsets. Each student has a dedicated 10 m² space for safe and comfortable movement in virtual reality. Monitors are fully adjustable, and workstations are equipped with ergonomic chairs to ensure maximum comfort.

Training program

Day 1: Game history – from Pong to Minecraft

  • Introduction activities
  • History of video games, early games and their development
  • Analysis of classic games (Tetris, Pac-Man, Super Mario)
  • Watching excerpts from the animated film Wreck-It Ralph (representation of gaming culture)
  • Practical workshop: create your own game character (drawing and idea generation)
  • Daily recap and free time

Day 2: Games as storytellers – the role of story and characters

  • Discussion: Why are some games more engaging than others?
  • Game analysis: Journey, Undertale, Limbo (visual and emotional storytelling)
  • Exercise: create a backstory for your own game character

Day 3: Game worlds and design

  • What makes a game visually unique? Use of color and shape
  • Analysis of Minecraft and Monument Valley — why are these games so popular?
  • Create your own game level using a paper prototype

Day 4: Music and sound in games

  • How do sounds create atmosphere?
  • Examples of game music: The Legend of Zelda, Celeste, Ori and the Blind Forest
  • Practical activity: create your own game sound effects

Day 5: Final project and presentation

  • Bringing it all together — presenting your game idea
  • Game testing and analysis
  • Closing ceremony and certificate presentation
