The classes will take place over 5 days, from 9:00 to 17:00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the classes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrival between 9:00 and 10:00.<\/li>\n<li>Morning session from 10:00 to 12:00.<\/li>\n<li>From 12:00 to 13:00 lunch break in the cafeteria of the office centre (\u20ac6 lunch money must be brought each day).<\/li>\n<li>Afternoon session from 13:00 to 16:00.<\/li>\n<li>From 16:00 to 17:00, time to relax and play virtual reality games in a shared virtual space.<\/li>\n<li>Every class period we will take a 15-minute break to play educational board games or relax in the fresh air.<\/li>\n<li>Group size: maximum 16 people.<\/li>\n<li>Technology and equipment: our school is equipped with powerful <em>gaming <\/em>computers and the latest generation of <em>Oculus Quest 3 <\/em>goggles. Each student has a 10m2 space to move around safely and fully in the virtual reality environment. Computer monitors are freely adjustable and workstations are equipped with ergonomic chairs to ensure a comfortable working environment for every child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Training programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 1 &#8211; Introduction to game design<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning:<br \/>\n&#8211; Introductory activities<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to game design: what is it, why is it important and what role does it play in the game development process?<br \/>\nAfternoon:<br \/>\n&#8211; Fundamentals of game mechanisms and dynamics.<br \/>\n&#8211; Overview of different types and genres of games<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2: Storytelling and concept development<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning:<br \/>\n&#8211; Storytelling and its relevance in games<br \/>\n&#8211; Narrative structure and character development.<br \/>\nAfternoon:<br \/>\n&#8211; Brainstorming session &#8211; ideas for your own games<br \/>\n&#8211; Group discussion on game ideas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3: Game mechanics and prototyping<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning:<br \/>\n&#8211; Game mechanics: rules, objectives, challenges and player interaction<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to prototyping<br \/>\nAfternoon:<br \/>\n&#8211; Practical prototyping session: students create paper prototypes of their game concepts<br \/>\n&#8211; Mock testing and iteration: students test each other&#8217;s prototypes and give feedback to improve them<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4: Creating the Game Design Document<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning:<br \/>\n&#8211; Introduction to the Game Design Document (GDD): what is it, what is its purpose and what are its components?<br \/>\n&#8211; GDD&#8217;s main sections: concept, gameplay, story, characters, mechanics, art, sound, etc.<br \/>\nAfternoon:<br \/>\n&#8211; Group activity: students work together to create their own GDD template, indicating the sections they will include<br \/>\n&#8211; Individual work session: students start to develop their GDDs, detailing the game concepts and mechanics<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 5: GDD finalisation and presentation<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning:<br \/>\n&#8211; Feedback: guidance and feedback on campers&#8217; GDD projects<br \/>\n&#8211; GDD completion: students make necessary corrections and improve their documents<br \/>\nAfternoon:<br \/>\n&#8211; Presentation preparation: students prepare to present their game concepts to the rest of the camp<br \/>\n&#8211; GDD presentation<br \/>\n&#8211; Closing ceremony and award of certificates<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A comprehensive five-day course on the basics of virtual reality game development, designed for youth aged 11-16.
